IN THIS BLOG I TALK ABOUT BACKLINKS!
Here is a quick guide about Backlinks
What are Backlinks and Why Do They Matter?
A backlink is link from other websites which direct traffic to YOUR website when clicked.
In layman’s terms - Imagine your website is a house. Backlinks are like roads leading to your front door.
How do Backlinks help?
Generates More Visitors: Just like more roads, more people can find your house. Backlinks help more people discover your website.
Helps win Improved Search Ranking: Search engines like Google view backlinks as a vote of confidence. The more votes you receive, the higher your website appears in search results, making it easier for potential customers to find you.
Enhances YOUR Credibility: When you can get your website links on other websites, you are building trust and enhancing your websites credibly. The more reputable websites will highlight your authenticity.
How do you get Backlinks:
For starters! – Register your business on the Omni Onlline Directory. Not only will others in the Omni community see you, but you will give you a backlink from Omni to your website. You can get your FREE profile by CLICKING HERE (as you will see, I haven’t put the link in text. I have used the Hyperlink option). It still counts!
Online Directories: There are so many FREE online directories online. There are also websites for local towns or communities. Search for as many as you can and get your business listed. Here is one I found - https://botw.org.uk
Try Guest Blogging: Offer and contribute articles or blog posts to other websites. If they appreciate your work, they may include a link back to your website. At least ask for a link in your credits.

If you are going to use guest blogging, remember offer to return the favour.
Make sure you Create High-Quality Content: With ALL content marketing, producing valuable and engaging content wins quality over quantity every time. It will help other websites owners naturally want to link to. Not to mention your organic audience.
Leverage Business Profiles: It’s an easy one to forget…But ensure your website address is included in all your online profiles (such as Google My Business, LinkedIn and social media platforms, etc.).
Be aware! There are different Types of Backlinks:
Contextual Backlinks: These are links that appear within the text of another website, typically relevant to the topic you're discussing. When putting content together, make sure you focus on this
Editorial Backlinks: I love these! These are the most valuable type. They occur organically when another website deems your content so exceptional that they wish to share it with their audience. Again, think about the content, quality and subject matter.
No-Follow Backlinks: It’s not as bad as they sound! These links instruct search engines not to pass as much credit to your website, but they can still be beneficial for increasing traffic.
Key Takeaways for Social Media:
Know your audience: Make sure your content is targeted at the right people, with the right subject matter or right message, but with the end goal in mind.
Prioritise Value: Share your blog posts and other valuable content on social media to attract attention and potentially earn those valuable editorial backlinks.
Engage with Your Audience: Interact with other businesses and influencers within your industry. This can foster relationships that may lead to backlinks or other opportunities. Social media is a great way to engage. Follow up on the comments left, and why not ask questions.
Track Your Progress: Monitor your website's backlinks over time to assess what's working effectively and identify areas for improvement. Here is a FREE backlinkchecker. This site also has many other tools to help your online presence. - https://ahrefs.com/backlink-checker
In summary:
When creating Content make sure it’s Tailored: Adjust the length and depth of your posts to suit each specific platform (e.g., shorter for Twitter, longer for LinkedIn, full blog on websites).
When using visuals: Include images or short videos in your social media posts to enhance engagement. If you are using downloaded images or videos, make sure they are renamed with YOUR business name and the content subject. Include a clear call to action: This goes without saying. Encourage readers to visit your website, learn more about your business or even sign up to a sneak peek newsletter with additional content rewards or prizes.
